The opportunities to work with musicians during the preparations of my works for performance (or observing rehearsals of other composers’ works) is an essential aspect within my composing. Most often, my works have been performed by the musicians of ELISION, and the performance practice that they have developed is a strong influence on my composing. Over the years, I have been exploring many ideas based on playing techniques as a result of advice the ELISION musicians often gave me during rehearsals.

There have also been opportunities involving many other musicians, and they often resulted in successful performances or new works being written (for more details, see the audio samples).

In 2009 I completed a project that I came up with together with flautist Richard Craig, and it is an ensemble work featuring Richard as the soloist playing 4 flutes (see the current project for more details).

In addition, the next projects I’m looking forward to in near future are solo works for: cellist Séverine Ballon, recorder player Anna Petrini, and clarinettist Richard Haynes.
